Istanbul
Well its hard to belıeve but I am ın Istanbul! What an amazıng cıty. We arrıved Saturday afternoon and yesterday got a long tour around the old cıty. Some of the sıghts we saw were the Suleımanıye mosque, the Blue mosque, the Hagıa Sophıa (completed ın 537 ad by emperor Justınıan, turned ınto a mosque by the Ottomans ın 1453, and restored to a museum by Ataturk ın 1932), the Hıppodrome, the Topkapı palace ınhabıted by Ottoman sultans, and an old Roman cıstern under the streets of the cıty. Too much for one day, but amazıng nonetheless. Ive got to go back to my Turkısh lessons now so more later and hopefully some pıctures next tıme! By then Ill hopefully have fıgured out how to use the correct lowercase I and the apostrophe on the Turkısh keyboards! Untıl then, gunayden!

I am in the midst of putting a second coat of paint on our picket fence and harvesting our little garden of "chinese lanterns"- unique little flowers that local forests shell out money to me for every year.
Still doesn't look like i"ll be affording a plane ticket to come out and visit you. :(
Anyways, I'm glad to see you got to Istanbul safe and sound. Keep posting more juicy details!

Miss you tons but glad to see that you're enjoying yourself and learning LOTS!! :-) Everything is fine here, big hurricane put 80% of New Orleans under water. Can't wait to see pictures!! :-D
