test drive!
Hello all! I just set up this page in anticipation of my rapidly approaching departure on the 2005-'06 St. Olaf College Term in the Middle East (hereafter TIME). I will be on TIME for approximately 5 months, from 26 Aug. to mid January, and will be spending a little over a month in each of four countries: Turkey (Istanbul), Morocco (Marrakesh), Egypt (Cairo), and Greece (Athens). The program of study includes courses in political science, sociology, history, religion, and art/architecture, and will be applicable within my St. Olaf majors: history and religion, with a concentration in Middle Eastern studies. Now that those formalities are out of the way, let me say that I am unbelievably excited for this trip! I'm leaving in exactly 2 weeks and I still can barely believe I'm actually going. This website will be where I post journal entries and photo updates for friends and family to keep informed about what I'm up to. I hope to have access to the internet on a regular basis, but if not, be patient and don't worry if a few weeks go by between updates. I'm going to do my best to stay current! Also, another disclaimer: I've never done anything like this before, so I apologize if it takes me a while to figure out the best way to make this site work. Hopefully, it will be a way to stay somewhat connected during these next five months. Thanks in advance for your interest and patience!
